Team Discriptions
Our pre team and D-team programs are designed to begin preparing students for competitive gymnastics. While both are non-competitive teams, as a rule, pre team members are younger. All of these students are selected from our recreational class programs. As with all our teams, membership is by invitation only and year-round attendance is mandatory.

Our competitive program encompasses both compulsory and optional levels of competition. Whether at the beginner or advanced level, there is a greater commitment required by both athlete and parent. In addition to scheduled training times, competitive team members are also required to attend all scheduled competitions. Training hours range from four (4) hours per week for our beginner competitors to fifteen (15) hours per week for our most advanced athletes. Competitions are usually held once a month between November and March. State, regional, and national championships, for those who qualify, are held in the spring.

General Information
Being a team member at OSSG is both an honor and a privilege. We expect our athletes to demonstrate the highest standards of loyalty to each other and to their coaches. Courteousness to each other, to other teams’ athletes, all coaches and judges is expected at all times from both athletes and parents. We pride ourselves on having athletes who are both talented and friendly.

Dedication is a must if an athlete is to reach his/her full potential. Every effort should be made to attend all scheduled practices. If a practice must be missed, every effort should be made to make up that practice at another time. Keep in mind that there are no refunds for missed time.

Annually, team tuition is broken up into 12 monthly payments from September to August and, except for extreme circumstances such as long-term injury or illness, there are no refunds. Families who have more than one child in the program receive a 10% discount from their tuition for each additional child. Monthly tuition is due on the first of the month. There is a late fee assessed for payments made after the 10th of the month. In addition to monthly tuition, team members’ meet fees must be paid in a timely fashion. If a meet fee is not paid on time, the athlete may lose the opportunity to compete in that meet. USAG and annual OSSG annual registrations are, of course due every September.

Spectators are to remain in the bleacher area during practice. Jewelry and street clothes such as shorts with snaps, buckles, zippers or buttons are not to be worn. Long hair must be tied back or put up. We are not responsible for any lost items, such as clothes or jewelry.
